The Sampler, a newsletter published by the Council, keeps readers updated on events, trends and issues in children's and young adult literature. The Sampler was founded in 1964. Author Clyde Robert Bulla was the first editor. The newsletter is currently published three times a year and mailed to all members. To become a member of the Children's Literature Council of Southern California and receive a current copy of The Sampler visit the JOIN US section of our Web page.

The Sampler also features "Wet Print", a list of recently published books by Southern California authors and illustrators.
