The FUN Committee would like to thank everyone who attended Books & Beverages on June 2nd, our first bookstore/pub crawl, including our kind hosts, Gus & Andy’s, Once Upon a Time Bookstore, Lost Books, and Basin 141 in Montrose, California. We hope you enjoyed the evening meeting other book lovers and exploring Honolulu Avenue. We certainly enjoyed meeting you!

One of the greatest delights of living in Southern California is our access to incredible authors through book festivals and events. Some of these festivals have become extremely large (LA Times Festival of Books, anyone?), but others offer a more intimate and homegrown feel.

LitFest Pasadena is just such a book festival—where local authors and readers get to connect in an inclusive community-based atmosphere.

The idea for the CLCSC Book Club came as the result of a conversation during one of our board meetings. Engagement with our members and supporting local authors has always been a priority for our organization, and with many people staying at home, the virtual book club was born.
